I want to mount my tablet so it "sits" right over the 8" radio. I have looked at all the "ball" setups and don't like that look. I looked at the gizmo you mount to sunglasses tray at center of dash, still don't like it. I also don't want the bracket that mounts to seat rail or anything that screws into dash. Anyone have suggestion ?
This is very close to my ideal solution. VERY close. I have 2 issues; first its limited to smaller tablets which are not much bigger than the 8" screen. second, it appears to be no longer available. I am really trying to get my tablet (10.3" screen") to lay on my dash, ideally in portrait mode, so I can use it for google map or Garmin navigation where I can upload new route data (from RV trip wizard) while on the road. My 8" screen has google maps (via android auto), but no ability to upload routes.
Seems like just attaching some magnets to the trim on the sides of the display and attaching your tablet case would work. As long as the tablet is wide enough to span the width of the 8" display when in portrait mode of course.
Thank you for idea. I really want some type of bracket/holder so a bump or jolt won't compromise the magnets grip. I tried to think of a way to "mount" the magnets, likely rare-earth, but not sure how/where.

Wow! I looked around that long thread and they had some other ideas. As for the pseudo-magnetic mount in threads around 19, that looked tempting but that seemed 1 good bump away from crashing down. Search continues ........
I'm sure the magnets wudwork. See what I did there. LOL If you have old hard drives, those suckers have super strong magnets in them. Be careful with those though, they will take a fingertip off if they smash your fingertips.
