Rusty pumpkin
I went with Corrosion Free because it's dripless and I found a study done by the Canadian military that showed it was the best corrosion inhibitor they tested, although I can't remember if they tested Krown. The nail in the coffin for Krown was when I called they were booked solid for the next 2 months.
I just painted mine last weekend with rustoleum rust converter. But first I hit it real good with a wire wheel on a drill. I also fixed a lot of small scrapes on the frame. I plan to clear coat the whole thing, and use fluid film. I might also put rhino liner on the bottom only where it can get scrapes from jacking or lifts at the shop.
This subject has been discussed/debated several times. It's only surface rust, not corrosion and it's likely you won't own the truck long enough for it to even matter. It's a cosmetic issue so just dress it up if you like but it won't negatively impact anything if you don't. The bottom of my 2012 Lariat looked horrible, didn't know they arrived like that until I did some research. My 2016 had a little bit of rust but I understand the issue and no longer care.
These trucks are expensive now and more people are scrutinizing them like they're a high end luxury car, but when they cost as much as a nice E-Class or 5-Series...

As far as what I'm doing...nothing. I keep my vehicles 10+ years, never rust proofed any of them. I live in upstate NY, plenty of snow, slush, and roads with a combo of materials tossed on them in the winter.
I've seen plenty of rusted out trucks. Typically it is the hind quarters from lowering boats in and out of water repeatedly.
Maybe I've been lucky...
I had my 2015 up on a lift a week or so ago installing skid plates. Not much rust under there.
