Running Boards
I have a set of OEM runnings boards for my 2016 150 xlt supercrew. I don't have any of the hardware for it. Can someone tell me what I would need to get for hardware to put these on? Thanks in advance!
When I removed OEM running boards from my 2016 XLT there were only nuts, 6 nuts per side. I reused them to install aftermarket running boards. See the picture. The washer is an aftermarket add on.
So the bolts were already there? I haven't had a chance to get under the truck and look yet. Do you know roughly what size the nuts are?
To be clear, they are M8 nuts, which requires a 13mm socket. The bolts should be present on all trucks... factory boards or not. On SCrew, there are actually 9 bolts - 3 separate plates. I believe some/all of the factory boards only use two. The Aries steps I added use all three, which is nice for a bit of extra stability.
You should also add a nylon washer between the body and the running board bracket, to prevent any galvanic action. My Aries boards included a nylon washer (between body and bracket), a decent size flat washer (between bracket and nut), and a nylon stop nut for each attachment point (18 total).

The boards that I installed had no nylon washers supplied. How critical are they?
