Ok gentleman. After a long hiatus, and the fact that I owe everyone a response to an issue that got this thread started, it seems that a solution has finally been found. Not quite like finding the Holy Grail but sounding more like an episode of "House", if anyone knows or remembers that show. Quick background for those not in the know... In bulleted summary form. 1. I bought my son a 2016 F150 XL 4x4 with a 5.0 with 127K miles. It used to be an oil field truck. 2. The engine would intermittently stop when waiting at a stop light, or sign.3. No codes showed up so alot of theories came up. It happened over a course of a year.4. Then suddenly, P0022 showed up.5. All parts related to that issue were replaced with OEM parts.6. It still did it. The mechanics replaced all the parts again with OEM in the blind chance of part defects played a role. The issue remained.7. Short of doing an exorcism, I told my son to grin and bear as it seldom did it often. And still, no codes.8. Then early this year, P0021 showed up. The other engine bank. 9. After a long line of carefully chosen curse words, my son and I noticed a pattern. (alcohol makes people think better)10. We noticed that the engine would abruptly turn off at stops more often after each oil change... And something I found across the internet. Over time as the miles racked up on the oil, it would do it far less, if at all. 11. On a hunch, and some extensive googling, I came across a video near the outer extremeties of the internet. Behold...
12. Different model and engine but the symptoms were beyond identical.13. I took it back to the mechanic and told him to check the oil pressure. I'd even pay extra.14. Sure enough... BOOM. The pressure was 1/2 of what it should have been at temp. The oil pump was on the threshold of failing AND the oil pressure was JUST above the threshold before the oil light would notice it. The mechanic stated that fresh oil has slightly lower viscosity than used oil. i.e. The fresh oil viscosity lowered itself closer to the pressure sender unit threshold value... Without triggering it.. But just enough to cause the phasers to go ape **** intermittently.15...this is a freak of nature in the same category as the planets lining up and winning the lottery. In short.. The truck runs like factory new after an oil change. And at risk of jinxing myself... Like I always do... No issues. Dudes and duddetes.. Spread the word. Caveat... P0011, 12, 21, 22 are legit codes and 99% of the fixes relate to the sprockets and phasers and everything in between. My issue was the 1%. So.... After changing out the affected parts for these codes and the vehicle STILL has the issues... Look towards the oil pump.

Default I think i figured it out

I've watched this forum a lot looking for answers. I finally just broke down and took it back to the dealership. My 2016 f160 5.0 with 100,000 miles (just bought a few months ago). So my check engine light came on p0012, and the dealership replaced the timing chain. When I got it back I would drive it and it drove fine. HOWEVER, after it was warmed up, if I was at a stop light or drive thu, or just in park, it would stall(unless I gave it gas). It Cranked back up with no problem, but would usually do it a few times a week, then it became more consistently. But if I sat a few seconds too long, the rpms would drop, and it would shut off......anyway, i took it back to the dealership, and explained; and they ended up replacing my "cam positioning sensor".....now when I see my rpm's move slightly, I can hear a click, and the engine seems to pick back up, where it would usually cut off. I feel much more confident in truck now and it took a lot of stress off... good luck.I hope this helps someone. But moral is, if I don't KNOW the issue, I'm going to a seasoned mechanic with modern tools. Plus the dealership ended up taking care of it for me, so that was cool.

Default Rough idol F150 2015 link can you send it to me please?

There is a thread on this already that I added to. Please message me if you get any where. Thanks
I wasn’t able to find the link so if you don’t mind sending it to me that would appreciate it at STUFFY at astound.net also it’s killing my engine. I do believe it could be the low octane fuel even though I was told that this truck could run on a low octane fuel, and I just started happening out of But unfortunately, I have a full tank

It make come across as unrelated but watch the vid. It finally fixed the issue with my 2016 F150 Xl 5.0. Borderline dying oil pump. New pump... Issue fixed. 2 yrs later NO FRIKKEN issues since.
