Default Rival skid plates

Has anyone bought these, and what do you think?
Amazon Amazon

It says NOT for ecoboost's, but a reviewer said he modified it to make it work & explained what he did, and I might be willing to do that.

Looks nice. Having said that, "I" don`t know about spending that kind of money & then have to modify it to fit my truck. They do have plates that fit eg:

Not as expensive also. YMMV

Rival is $649
RCI is $765
I'm willing to do 30 minutes of work for $115.

They look good and solid but I'm willing to spend the extra $115 to not have to remove the whole plate to change my oil. Although, they look to be an aluminum product and the RCI in the similar price point are 10g steel with powdercoat. I don't like powdercoated steel myself and the bare aluminum option is just shy of $1000

I don't think powder coat is ideal either. Bare aluminum can be brightened up easily with soapy water & a green scotchbrite pad. I would probably take the skid plate off anyways when I change the oil because they collect a lot of junk.

I just hate powder on steel products. 1 teeny tiny rock chip or nick or anything and the bare substrate is exposed and rusts. That rust spreads pretty quick throughout the part because I powdercoat is basically a plastic over bare metal.

I have the aluminium RCI. Before mounting I sanded and primed them then sprayed them flat black. They get scratched up now and then, but a quick cleaning and another shot of rattle can black and they look good enough for me. I did the front Ford shield too and like the overall effect.

Practically no one sees them but me and a cat thief...
