Default Reverse Camera Issues

Dealership has replaced the camera twice and the APIM module. Sometimes the backup camera works just fine, other times it has lines in screen and doesn't work. Anyone have similar issues and what was the fix? Thanks

That screen usually comes up when the LINBUS circuit is changed. Since it comes and goes and you've replaced the camera and APIM, you probably have an intermittent short in the wiring somewhere between the camera and the APIM. Do you have Pro Trailer Back Up Assist? If so, there is one more module (IPMB) between the camera and the APIM. That could also be causing you issues.

Thanks for the reply! I do have the Pro Trailer Back Up Assist. I'm taking the truck to the dealer this morning, I will mention the IPMB and possible short in the wiring.

Not to hijack, but any idea what would cause this with the rearview camera. Sometimes it works sometimes its dim or black.

I had this same issue this morning. Did you get it resolved?

We constantly had all the issue above on our 15. The day before we traded it in the dealer installed a brand new rear camera. It froze backing out of the spot at the dealership.

We had a few resets down and new cameras, it worked for long stretches.

The dealership found an internal fault in my IPMB. They replaced with part number GL3Z-19H405-D and now everything has worked with no issues for six months. Hope this helps.
