Default Resetting Miles Til Empty

How do I reset the miles to empty on a 2016 Lariat?

It used to show around 600-650 miles to empty upon fill up. I pulled a camper for 2 tanks of gas...obviously the mileage went down. I've filled up twice and the number has only reached 340 til empty. I am certainly getting better mileage not pulling the camper. I have held reset on the avg mpg screen and so on.

TIA!

You read your manual.

It is based in the last 500 miles driven. Once you have 500 miles driven after towing, it should be normal.

Settings. I'm not in my truck to tell you exactly. But, there is a selection where you can switch DTE between either normal or towing. It sounds like yours is still on towing. Look in the towing tab under settings.

Either that, or he towed without setting it to DTE while towing, so it is working from invalid data.

This is exactly what happened...thank you. Didn't realize you could change it. I don't have an owners manual. Is there any way to start over or reset that?

So whenever I tow something I should be going into setting and changing that?

Yes.

PDF manuals at owner.ford.com, put a copy on every electronic device.

Two options, wait it out like rick said or disconnect the battery if you just can't stand it and need instant relief.

Or just do like I do. Read it cover to cover and then memorize it.
