Reset Adaptive Memory on 2016
Cleaned my Mass Airflow sensor plus the other two on my 2016 3.5EB since it had 120,000 miles on it. According to one of the You tube videos he said to reset my Adaptive memory after cleaning by disconnecting the negative battery cable, turning on the headlights then waiting for the power to drain. Well I disconnected the negative battery and turned on the lights, but the lights never come on. I even tried by pushing the start button so the accessories would come on, but still no headlights come on to drain the power from the truck. Am I missing something? I do have forscan, but hesitant to use it.
Thank you

Your YouTube Mechanic Genius thinks he is brilliant telling you to turn on the headlights after disconnecting the battery. Headlights are not going to illuminate, nothing is going to work when the battery is disconnected.
If anything you can turn on the headlights to prove the battery is disconnected. That is all it will accomplish.
Just disconnect the negative lead for 30 seconds, then reconnect. There is no need to "drain" anything. The things consuming power will quickly discharge whatever capacitors they have in about 10 seconds. The ECU has some good capacitors to clean and regulate its power.

Disconnect the positive battery terminal, Jump a wire between the positive terminal wire, not the battery terminal and the negative terminal that is still connected to the battery
Just takes a second or two, remove the jumper, reconnect positive terminal and your done. you will need to reset your clock, date, radio controls, treble, bass, ect
I reset mine any time I work on the motor, or every 2 months or so

Quote - Just use Forscan, nothing to be scared about and its not changing any values or anything...literally just plug the cord in, open Forscan, reset the table and you are done in a matter of seconds.
I have used Forscan to change my mirrors to folding etc, but that's it. When in Forscan where do I go to and what should I be doing.
Thank you
Greg

If you don't know why it's wrong, it's probably not a good idea to be giving that as advice.
See the factory service manual, if needed, for directions on how to disconnect and reconnect the battery cables.
