Default Replying to text messages

I feel like with the text messages coming through Sync, there should be a button on the screen that allows you to reply by voice, or a button on the steering wheel that will allow you to talk and send the message back. I know you can go through SIRI but its a lot of steps to go through to respond. If there is a way and I just do not know, I give you all permission to tell me how dumb I am. I have tried the manual with no such luck.

I have a 2016 XLT with IPHONE.
Thanks!

That would be nice. Yeah it's a bit of a pain and a few steps to go through for a simple reply. iPhone here as well.

1st world problems.

I have an iPhone, and my truck tells me txt messages arnt supported with this phone. It didn't work with my Ram either. My blackberry would let me read and send txt messages in my Ram. My phone is an older iPhone 4.

Hey everyone!

Replying to text messages is a phone dependent feature. Apple has not optimized the use to send messages through SYNC. Before Siri Eyes Free was developed, you had to send the text from the iPhone. For the phones that do allow this feature, are only able to send the preset messages stored in SYNC. The Siri feature allows you to send more.

I agree that we should be able to answer txts hands free, instead of having to find my droid phone and answer. Thought that was the point. At least let us custom make a few "canned" texts to replace some (most) of the ones provided so we can use them. Thanks

Unfortunately this is something that the phone OS (Google and Apple) would have to allow in the API. Ford can not add a feature unless the OS supports it.

Thank you Shaay, I would, however that site only allows up to 2015 F150 in the menu, so I lost faith before even starting.

There is an App called Vlingo that you can text with its for the older iPhones through voice recognition not really a big help as it is not through the truck. But it's safer then what a lot of people are currently doing.
