Default replacing plastic bed rails

has anyone replaced the stock ford bed rails with replacement stock ford bed rails? I think it's this part number for one side:

http://parts.bartowford.com/ford/f-1...ck-up-box-scat

do the new pieces include the plastic clips? Is it easy to snap off the old pieces and snap on the new ones? My old bed rails are very scratched up and if it is easy enough to snap on and snap off it may be worth the ~ $160 to me to make it look a lot better.

I ended up putting on new bed rail caps today. The old ones are a bit of a pain to take off, but with a combination of needle nose pliers, a long screwdriver, and a bent coat hanger I got them off. The new ones go on in about 15 seconds. The reason for the replacement is my old ones were all scratched up and I didn't like looking at the mangled bed caps on a newer truck.

Thanks for posting that info, FP1. The bed rail really looks like Swiss cheese under the cap!

Do you know if the stake pockets are on every truck even if the plastic rail caps don't have 'em?

not 100%, but I'm pretty sure they are.....if you notice the stock plastic rails on mine don't have the cutout for the front stake pockets, but my truck does

Yes, the do. The 8' and 6.5' box already have the cutouts made in the plastic bedrails where you can just pop them off with a screw driver. The 5.5' beds do not and you'd have to measure and then cut them out with a dremel or similar type tool.

Sweet, good to know. Thanks guys

[EDIT] I really must learn to look up at the forum sub-section before I respond to a post. Didn't realize this was the '15+ boards... again lol

Are your new caps identical to the old ones? As in same ridged channels that go all the way up over the front stake pockets?

Is anyone using aftermarket rails? I was poking around Cabelas yesterday and noticed they carry metal rails from DeeZee - http://www.cabelas.com/product/auto-..._SEQ_104207580
