Default Replacement Ball joint for BDS UCA

I installed a set of BDS UCA's a few years ago. The ball joint that came with the UCA's has, Moog problem solver 40, stamped on it. BDS quit using Moog due to failures as far as I can tell. When I looked on BDS' site it says the replacement is the 500-1104. BDs does sell a replacement ball joint kit, but they want $150.47 for each side. I called and asked BDS tech support what brand they switched to and of course they won't say. I asked if they have a MFG stamp on their current UCA ball joints and they said they do not. Does anyone know what ball joint BDS currently uses in their UCA's?

K6696 moog is what you want. Just did mine a week ago. $40 on Amazon.

they even list the part # on the instructions. Not sure where that prior part # came from.

which instructions? Their website lists 500-1105 in their instructions or k6696 in other instructions I've seen.

Hello,
Thank you both for replying. I looked at both upper ball joints and compared.
The BDS 123253 front upper control arm kit for 2004-2020 Ford F150 4WD upper ball joint number bds has on instructions is 500-1105. They list the replacement ball joint on their website as BDS replacement BDS081203. This upper ball joint looks like K80604. The ball joint K6696 doesnt look like the same balljoint as bds's replacement # nor does it look like the balljoint that is on my bds uca for my ford. K6696 has boots that look completely different. Does this matter?

The instructions are still for the Moog based ball-joint. I know mine I bought last year included their new ball joint and instead of a castle nut cotter-pin they use a flange jam nut and an additional washer. They did not include the washer and it took me a few emails back and forth with their support to figure out why I could not get the nut tight to the knuckle. I thought it was defective ball joint but it just turns out I didn't get washers.

Anyway back to the thread... I could not see a part number or stamp on mine. I did confirm with support I was using their new ball joints.

Thats what mine look like. However, within 1000miles the boots shredded. BDS tried to say it was lack of grease. My ***. I want to replace these so I'm looking for the specific moog # to replace. Is it the jeep moog K80604 or the gm moog K6696 or is it something else, that they use in their ford uca's? even their replacement bds ball joints they list on their website, 1# looks like the K80604 and 1# looks like the k6696 and both say 2004-2020 ford uca. Any help is appreciated.
