I went with the revolver x4 from bakflip. so far I like it. the retrax seems highly praised & liked, the only reasons I didn't get one was removeability and price. the revolver rolls up on top of the bed though, so that maybe not what you're looking for...

I also chose the Revolver 4 just yesterday. The Retrax is nice for sure. But takes up some bed space back there and is not compatible with bed deck storage systems. Plus its rather pricey at about $800 more. Its a neat nice install though. I can' t knock it at all. If you were happy with it I don't think there is anything "better" out there.

I was looking at the Gator but it looks just like the Retrax Pro. The reviews was not as good as the Retrax. Was hoping I could find one with a smaller canister. The retractable is nice because I can stop it anywhere on the rail.

Gator is a rebranded Retrax cover. Both made by Retrax and I opted for a Gator because it was slightly cheaper. No issues with mine so far and fits great.

There are lots of great retractable cover options. Retrax is one of the well known and has a top-selling retractable cover. We offer great discounts for F150 members. If you're still in the market for the private message me or visit our website.

I had a Revolver X4 (2018) on my tundra. I am assuming the design is the same for the F150 (if it different then disregard my post). I did not like the X4. The rails have giant sloppy seals, the termination at the tailgate is savage, it is like someone cut the rail with a hack saw and called it done, sharp edges, no caps. The tie up straps clip into little plastic clips on the forward rail that are very prone to breaking. My next cover was a Sentry CT (2020), and it is finished a lot better than the X4 was. The seals are neat and unobtrusive, and the ends at the tailgate are finished much cleaner. Also, removing the Sentry off the truck is just two sliding latches, Removing X4 is held on a little different with large thumb screws IIRC.

Here is a photo of how poorly the X4 is finished at the tailgate.
