Default Replace Radio and A Pin

My 2019 Lariat Satellite radio stopped working. Do not get the preview channels or anything. Tried all the resets plus calling Sirius to no avail. Brought it to the dealership today and they just called saying I need to replace the radio and APIM, total cost about $2500. Not a chance of me paying that much.

Does anyone know what the "APIM" is? I am thinking I can find these parts in a junk yard and install myself at a fraction of that $2500.

As much as I like my truck I will never buy another one. Anything that needs replaced is over $1000.

APIM - accessory protocol interface module
Check the sales threads around here. Someone might be selling an APIM unit.

Update. Here you go.

Sounds like a longshot, but is your Sync up to date? My Sirius worked, then suddenly stopped. I updated Sync and it's been rock solid since.

If you actually need to replace those parts, I have two 2019 non-navigation APIM's, one 2020 Navigation APIM and I have two 2019 SiriusXM ACM's for sale . . . PM me for prices . . .

I'm not a Satellite radio user and don't usually pay much attention to issues with Satellite radio. However, you may want to spend a little time in this thread. Upgrade Sync 3 V3.0 to V3.4 instructions - Ford F150 Forum - Community of Ford Truck Fans
While it is a long thread, and deals with upgrading SYNC3 (the software that runs within the APIM), there are many reports of specific versions of SYNC3 which do not play well with the Sirrius Sattelite radio features. Spend some time in that thread reading to understand which versions of SYNC3 have issues. It may be as simple as you received an over the air (OTA) update to your SYNC3 and now you have the Sirrius Satellite issues. Anyway, the thread is about upgrading older SYNC3 systems (prior to version 3.2) to use the newer SYNC3 (version 3.4). If I had to guess, based on what you describe, I'm not thinking you need a new APIM or Radio - of course, that is only a guess on my part. I'd guess a release upgrade, which can be found in this thread, may solve your problems. If you are willing to spend a little time, it may not cost you to fix this issue. At least it is worth exploring....
You should look at what version and release of SYNC3 you have..... Go to the Settings page, and you should be able to find the version and release. I don't recall the exact menu items, but it is under settings on your SYNC3 system (the screen in the middle of your dash).
And if necessary, you can get a used APIM for much less than $2500 and program it with FORScan. You'll find lots of information on this site if you are willing to look... Good luck.

The update to Sync 3.4 is what resolved my issue with Sirius.
