Does anyone know if the autodim rearview mirror can be replaced with an autodim mirror with a compass? I need to replace my mirror and though the compass might be a nice addition if it's plug and play. specifically, we're talking model numbers 8U5A17E678- LA vs AB.

There is a compass reading in the driver information display, why do you need one in the mirror? Two compass displays?

 

I know it is in the dash. I like the tactical, dedicated spot on the rear view mirror. Just personal preference.
