Default Removing the read end block to lower the rear

has anyone attempted to remove the Ford read suspension block to lower the rear instead of leveling the front?

It is not that difficult. I did mine while at the tire shop getting new shoes put on. While on the lift, and the axle is hanging, undo one U bolt completely. Remove 1 nut entirely from the second U bolt and re install about 5 turns. Slowly remove the second nut just enough until a space appears between the axle and the spacer block. Continue loosening the second nut until you can pull the block out. Once out the block is out, tighten up the U bolts and re-torque them evenly. Repeat the process for the other side.

I did mine on a hoist but could easily be done in your driveway, as long as the axle can hang fully.

It levels by the rear. I measured it at 1.25 in.

The only issue is that the ubolts become longer by 1.25 inc and you can see them when away fron the truck. I had new one made at a spring shop.

You can order a set of 2WD UBolts or cut the stock ones.

Interesting but I think I would rather have mine level by lifting the front. 4x4 I think looks better sitting higher rather than lower but thats just me & my opinion.

For some people, yes. But I installed some Bushwacker fender extension + wheel spacers. I like the lower/wider stance better. Not interested in a lift. Been there, done that. Got the t-shirt to prove it ... lol
