Default Remote Tailgate Release

Question about my tailgate release.....It always unlatches when i press the button...but only fully opens on its own half of the time. Is this normal? The only time i am confident it will open is when my truck is parked on a hill and gravity takes over.

Should it have enough power to open on its own all the time??

yes, typically it is too much pressure against the rubber stops on either side. They tend to stick when new. Dealer can adjust or you can shave them down slightly. If you open it in rapid succession does it begin to fully open every time? If so, then the rubber stops are the issue.

Mine is the same. Once I had the bed Linexed it created even more friction and now my auto tailgate is pretty much manual.
