Remote starter

Remote starter
So now that winter is approaching up here in New England I am thinking about investing in a remote car starter. Curious if anybody has an advice on one that they might have installed or had installed. I have a 2018 f150 XL 5.0.
With my limited research I am needing toward the no honk plug n' play kit from 12 volt solutions (online) for $220.
I would love to have a starter that can be controlled by my phone rather than the trucks key but that's not 100% necessary.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts and experiences!

there is the factory remote start with shock sensor but that doesn't allow phone start, 12 volt is probably the easiest to install with that feature.
otherwise you can have a pro-audio shop install something like directed smart start

I bought this one off of eBay a while back for $97+ while on sale >> Here
Maybe make him an offer, see what he'll settle for.
You do get the 2 honks with this one, but with Forscan you should be able to delete it (I haven't tried to yet). Or, maybe ask if he can set it up with "lock-unlock-lock" setting so there's no horn honking. It installed and works perfectly fine for me. Turns out the guy works at a Ford dealership.

On Edit: As the following post points out, this solution won't provide starting via a cell phone.
Here's my take: Although my truck has Sync Connect and can start it using Ford Pass with my phone, I rarely use it. My phone is with Verizon and the truck uses AT&T for Sync Connect, sometimes that's a problem depending where I'm am (if not on wifi, I need availability of both networks). I also find the Ford Pass app slow to load & respond. When it does load, sometimes it welcomes me saying there is an error (so it's useless).
For me, I find it quicker and easier to ask Alexa to start while at the house (no hands, no delay). And, although it uses/links with Ford Pass, it's much quicker and seems more reliable. When not parked in my driveway, I usually reach for the keyfob and it's started quickly. But, I do have to be within range. I haven't experimented with the range, but know it's far, far better than my wife's Toyota.

I have the Ford OEM JS7Z-19A361-A. You will need Forscan to turn the menus ON. If you don’t have the ability to use Foresacan, I’d invest in getting the hardware and learning how to do it. You will find that there are lots of neat stuff you can do, which doesn’t limit your choices in products due to programming handicap.

I picked mine up from amazon. Works well and installed it in 5 minuites in the parking lot at work. The Canadian version only had the 3x lock but I see the American one has a cheaper option for the lock-unlock-lock. I just used forscan to disable the honk on mine and the included instructions showed how to set that up.
