Just noticed that my remote start doesn't work anymore. Doesn't matter whether I try using the key fob or the ford pass app. Any ideas? All the other functions of both key fobs and the ford pass app work.

 

Possible the hood latch is confused and thinks hood is open.

Open/close the hood maybe? If the hood is open, remote start is disabled.
Check engine light present will also disable remote start.

 

Probably not any help to you as I have an aftermarket system from california that plugs directly into the backside of the OBD port..........Mine did what you say .. as in many times 1-2 months after new 5-6 times or more. ...
I ended up calling the manufacturer on it...
Solution was power ignition key on & off without starting 3 or 5 times (sorry can't remember how many times but one of the above)
Also on my unit it has a red led light that would power on only for a split second after that on/off cycle...That @ least told me it reset !!
I did notice above would not remedy itself if you tried to remote start it right away....So I just left it overnite & it worked the next morning...
This happened 5-6 times on the power on/ off solution above....
Then as I said it suddenly just started working say the last 4-5 months as it should !! Flawlessly !!

If it was the hood latch the vehicle should honk if you try to remote start with fob.

 

Try deleting your Ford pass app and then re-install it. This happened to me once on my 2017 and that worked for me.

 

Removed and reinstalled fordpass with no change. It is going to dealer Monday, they finally got a rear camera for the recall. Guess this will be on the list too.

Oh, and yes, double checked to make sure remote start was active in the advanced settings menu

 

Some DTCs disable remote start.

 

I'll renew my forscan and check tomorrow
