Remote start quit working
The antenna is for the remote start right? My truck came with remote start so I'm not familiar with the location of the antenna, but I added the ford security system which was plug and play install pretty much.
Somewhere I read that the remote start would not work after a certain amount of time. Like 3 days, but you used remote start just the day before. I don't recall it saying anything about remote entry though specifically if you used it for locking/unlocking. I read that the feature was built in to not drain the battery if the vehicle hadn't been used, I don't know that it would disable lock/unlock remote sensing though. I also know that the feature can quit working if something is wrong with truck, check engine or something similar. Perhaps a fuse or something?? Hope you can get it figured out.
Wow bro, believe it or not it worked!!! I unplugged the security box and hooked it up as stock and tried it but it still didn't work so I cussed it, plugged the security box (Y) back in and tried it for the hell of it and VOILA! I did have the harness tie wrapped pretty tight with the wiring sort of in a bind so I put it back looser and that may have been the issue. Thanks for the help!!!
new '15 platinum, drove it off the lot 24 hrs ago. tried remote start for the first time a couple hours ago, didn't work at all from 2 feet away (red blink). Will check if its disabled for some reason in settings otherwise I guess it'll be the first of hopefully not many trips to the dealer service department

One slightly odd thing I learned about Ford's remote start. You have to lock it first, even if it's already locked!! Our previous '14 Ram was quite happy to remote start anytime it was locked. But this one requires a lock command immediately before the remote start command.
