Well I installed my OEM remote start this morning. No issue plugging it in but when it was time to do the small plug in when the led lights flash different colors. Well there was no button to push and no led lights. I’m guessing I have to go to the dealer to program it. But every video on YouTube said there would be led lights that flash then turn the key to the on position and then your done. Not sure what I got.

There are no leds or buttons on the OEM remote start. You activate it in forscan or at the dealership, then turn the key to on and then off to program it. That's it.

I didn’t realize that, since I don’t fool with forscan I’ll make an appointment with the dealer to program it.
thanks for the reply.

Get the forscan programs. You can join and get a 2 month free pass. Then buy a cheap hi/low OBD reader off amazon..I installed my sons remote start and the dealer charged me like 200.00 to turn on and program key..I have done several of my friends now and once you start using forscan you start looking for thing to change on your truck.. it’s a great tool to have..

That’s a good price considering it takes about 2 minutes to enable it.. I got taken advantage by my dealer..that’s why I looked into forscan.

But it would cost a lot more if I messed up using forscan, and had to have the dealer fix what I messed up. It probably is easy I’m just not ready to try forscan. Maybe in the future.

that's a pretty good price.. they are not even charging you the minimum 1 hr labor .. the adapter for forscan is about half that anyway.. i would say go ahead and have the dealer do it for peace of mind

Forscan is super easy to use..can’t really mess anything up as long as you save your profile you can all ways go back and fix it..you don’t even have to go into as built any more. You can go right into each module and turn things on..
