Default Remote Start Issue?

Now that winter is here, I've been using the remote start on my 2018 F150 XLT almost every morning to thaw my truck out before leaving for work. Generally my remote start has always worked the same as my wife's Explorer: push lock button, double click the start button, and then a solid green light shows on the keyfob. But recently it's been flashing green and then flashing red even though the truck starts up just fine. Could this be because it's so cold outside that the truck is taking longer to start? Should I be concerned about this? Like I said, the truck starts every time even though there isn't a solid green light on the keyfob.

if it starts anyway it means the 2 way communication had a problem... the truck could not send a signal back to the remote to say its started. try to think of anything new that maybe causing electronic interference

Doug already answered but for reference:

Solid green=Remote Start Success(Engine start confirmed)
Flashing green=Status Incomplete(May or may not have started)
Flashing red=Request Failed(No start)
Solid red=Remote Stop Success(engine turned off)

Doug, thanks for the info but it does it even if I'm standing only a couple feet away from the truck. It flashes green three times, then flashes red three times but the truck starts right up. I'll try it again today when I leave work and see what happens.

Does the keyfob work on the 2.4Ghz band? I recently added a Ring Chime Pro in my house and that operates exclusively on the 2.4Ghz band. Maybe that's causing interference with the communication.

The ring would not be the problem. Have you tried replacing the fob battery?

I have not tried that. The truck is only 6 months old but it's worth a try

Mine will do the same. I know right where I can start pushing buttons to start my truck as I leave work. There is a 2 to 3 step space where the truck starts but fob will flash red. Any time after that spot I get the green light. Before that space its red and no start.
I think the fob just has a better transmitter than receiver. I'm glad it's not the other way around.
