I went with the OEM add-on:

which enabled start via regular key fob. Later I added the long range remote and antenna so I can start it from my office before I leave for the day

Works great and install was easy although forscan is required to make it work

I looked at the 12vsoultion model but they use the stock remote so only start when you're close to the vehicle.
Ford dealer that I purchased from suggested Compustar also.
The service guru said even the long range oem Ford kit wasn't that good.
Any comments from those that have the oem long range Ford kit?
Happy? Not happy?

its not long range ... its maybe 12 feet longer than the regular remote in my company parking garage .. i have not tried it from an unobstructed view like a window and open lot but it wasn't that much difference .. I had directed smart start which is similar to the compustar .. the 2 way remote was 1 mile .. the phone app was endless .. the ford long range remote does not compare

Thumbs up oem plug & play

Check Ebay under Fairway Ford, I've bought many items from them for my 2011& 2015 f150s, with fast, free shipping, they have them for 2015-2019
for $179.95. Easy to install yourself with excellent instructions, the only thing you'll have to do is take it to your Ford dealer so
they can program it to your truck, my dealer charged me $50 but could vary.

I personally would buy the Ford unit......it is made for your truck and fully integrated.
