That is true, but it's limited by the factory remote range. These are Ford design systems that are plug and play. It adds the extra security system and the ability to add a long range remote or cell phone capability.

So the express kit is plug and play? If that is the case looks like the module can be had for about 40$

I had the express kit dball2 in my car, nothing wrong with it. It was just limited to about 75 ft. The thing I liked about it most it didn't require a second remote.

Yep that is why I like it as well I don't want a 2nd remote to have to carry as well.

I had the Drone unit on my last truck. The app sucked, crashed all the time. The mobile version worked great.
On my new f150 I'm going to try the Ford system. It's about the same price as aftermarket if you want security and remote start via cellphone.

It is absolutely NOT plug and play. If they are quoting you 150 installed then go take the deal.

You have to flash the module (requires XKLoader), and then you have to tap into CANBUS, parking lights, etc.

Kinda funny..I asked the aftermarket shop how reliable the drone starting system is...,they of course said 100%!!!

Well..I picked it up and was sitting in my office and thought I should try the remote start. Damn thing wouldn't communicate and refuses to start and gives me a server error!

I was laughing so damn hard I almost pissed myself in my office! Gotta love non OEM accessories.

I sent them an email with screenshots, they think they can fix it tomorrow. Just funny!

We have it installed in my wife's vehicle and it worked great at first but now it doesn't work well. Have tried the reset instructions and pulled battery for 30 minutes and no help. I need to take it back so they can figure out what's wrong.

Try the web version vs the app.
