I work in a large grocery store and park at the far edge of the parking lot. Mine will start from inside the store through the outer wall and several interior walls.

No, you can't use your phone unless you buy the OEM Ford remote access module + perimeter plus security module with a $50 per year subscription.

This works from any distance, even from state to state or country to country as long as there is a wireless signal to be found.

They started my truck from New York while I was in Virginia when doing the installation.

That's awesome, I always wanted to be able to cool off my truck while I was out of state on business. Seriously though, I think the best option depends on your personal needs/requirments. I had a Hyundai with the BlueLink service. The only way to remote start was with the app. The app sucked and took forever to log in. By the time the damb thing started I had walked to the car. For the distance I need I far prefer the fob starter over the app for ease and speed. The Ford app may be better and more reliable than the Hyundai app so I'm not bashing the app since I haven't used it I'm just saying In the time it takes to pull the phone out of my pocket, open the app, give it the command, and the truck to get the command from the server my truck is already cooling down with the fob start, it's instant. And best off all I own it, no subscription.

I know that, that's why I posted it.

Dealer doesn't need to flash if the truck already has remote start from the factory.

With the factory remote start, I want to say I've hit over 400'. I guess being able to hit it from farther has its advantages but I'm happy with the stock setup.

My house is down a hill on a lake and my garage is up at street level about 400ft away. I have found I can remote start the truck if I point the transmitter against my head and hold it there for a few seconds after pushing the remote start button. You are basically using your body as a huge antenna. The key fob will still blink red 3 times, but it does start the truck. Otherwise I have to walk halfway up the stairs, and get within about 200ft to start it.
