Default Remote Access / Sync Connect...

So in all my searching, questions etc, it looks like no matter what you cannot add Sync Connect to an '18 Truck that does nto come with it from the factory, is this correct?

Also, can I still add the Remote Access parts and does the app still work? What exact part do I need for that, I just see so many different information out there.

Correct. SmartLink is Sync Connect for vehicles that don't come with it. It's pricey.

Remote Access parts are no longer available. Too bad, because both the parts, and the annual fee, were far lower.

Is there any way I can just find the Remote Access parts on ebay or somewhere else and use that instead or is the app no longer functioning?

I installed the app based remote access system over 2 years ago. I hear it is no longer available or supported, but mine still works. I did pay the annual fee when I installed it back then. However I have not been charged for it again since then and it is still working from the app on my phone. I have been using it regularly, as recent as this morning.

Does anyone know if this part will work with a 2017 F150 XLT Screw Cab with 5.0L?

Ford (FR3Z-14F642-A)

I was told that the smartlink OBD II modem can be plugged in and connect my truck with the app.
