Default Regear

Hey guys, I'm getting my truck back tomorrow with a 7 inch lift and 37s. I drive a 2016 2.7L ecoboost with 3.55 gears. I will also have a tuner in there.I drive mostly Interstate or highway, and I barely tow and probaly rarely will. I plan on having this truck for a long time and want it to still ride smooth and protect the engine and tranny. Do I need to regear? I'm new at all this stuff so if you could recommend what gear ratio I should move to or not and the reasons why it would be much appreciated!

You don't have to swap gears. (Sorry, I looked at "regear" a few times and didn't realize what you were referring to lol) you could, but it's probably about $2000 unless you can do it yourself. Unless the truck feels lazy, I doubt it will, the 2.7's seem to be pretty torquey. You don't tow so I wouldn't worry too much about it

Okay more than likely I won't then. If for instantance I decide to later on what gear ratio would you recommend?

Id go with 4.10's personally. I ordered my truck with the 3.73's, if I could have gotten 4.10's I would have lol. I don't think you will have any problems with 3.55 gears and 37"s. But you won't know until you try it. You will definitely notice a power loss, but that's expected. If the truck feels like it's really struggling, you may be into a gear swap. I'm sure there are some 2.7 guys reading this that have 37's. Maybe they can give you some first hand experience

I believe 3.73 are the lowest gears you can get for the new HD 8.8 rear end.

You will know when you drive it. Curious why you'd pick the small motor to do a build like this? Or is this an all show less go type truck purely for aesthetics?

I'd run the 3.55s for awhile to see if you can live with it and as others have said I am not sure if you can get 4.10s with the ford 8.8 on our F150s as jumping to 3.73s would not be worth the money (my opinion if your truck is 4x4).

oh,. and lets see the pics!!

Yeah it is purely for aesthetics, plus I know nothing about mechanics of vehicles if I did I would go back in time and probably get something else. Live and learn. But like I said this is purely a luxerxy vehicle to me and just want it to look the way I like. I don't plan on racing, going off road if much, or towing.
