Default Recurring engine light/Eco Boost problem

I have a 2013 F150 (1st year with "Eco Boost") and have had it into a Ford dealer several times with the engine light on...They've told me repeatedly that I had dirty fuel in it, or that I should add higher Octane fuel, then I needed a fuel additive, etc......it will run for a while, and then the light is on again. Now the dealer is saying I need a $3200 repair to replace the Turbo Charger Units (faulty actuators)....Has anyone else had this problem and is it something Ford needs to look into as a "recall" issue?

The mods will most likely move this since this isn't the right board for that MY.

I haven't seen that issue for the 2015+, but you could use the search function on the 2009-2014 boards and see if anyone says anything there.

Not sure what you expect as far as Ford looking into something as a "Recall" issue... Recalls are usually for safety issues. If your 4+ year old truck has a mechanical issue and is out of warranty, then you will need to pay for the repair. Your options when your warranty was coming up to expire was get an extended warranty or accept that at some point mechanical parts may break and be ready for the cost.

If you shop around you can probably find it for less, good luck!

Ecoboost was released for the F150 in 2011 not 2013.
I had an 11', I went through every single ecoboost issue they had...

Does it drive different than normal?

Do you know what the actual code is?

I would find out what code before doing anything else.

Sounds silly they went from "dirty fuel" to "turbocharger units".

Something is not right here.

Thank you for your response. Once I get the code number, I'll let you know.
