Hello, new to the forum. Joined to ask a similar question. And maybe future advice and ideas. I created a new thread related to this one about the the brake recall on my 2014.

In summary, the local Ford dealer's service department is telling me that they're not addressing the master cylinder brake recall unless it develops the symptoms described in the recall notice. Are they correct in this? There are no obvious problems with the brakes so far. See the the thread I started for more info.

Thanks in advance

Unhappy

This past weekend my 2016 3.5 Ecoboost with 50k miles experienced the same issue but my truck was not in the recall because it was built at Rouge plant. The dealer said since it is not in the recall I need to pay for the fix. Has anyone else experienced the same problem? I plan on trying to call Ford and get an explanation why the exact same problem occurred but not part of the recall.

Try this link. Check your build date.
Note I had this recall done on my 2015 Dearborn built there was no question from dealer.

Thanks. Yeap i checked that out as soon I discovered the the problem and my VIN is not on that which is why I posted. The dealer fixed the problem and I called Ford Customer Service and started a new case to reimburse me the cost. I am waiting to hear back from them.

Sorry I haven't reported back but long story short I went through the Ford Customer Service Center who bounced me around to 3 people before they told me to write a letter and mail the invoice to them. After 6 weeks I got a response that said your truck's VIN does not have a recall. Thanks Captain Obvious! Needless to say I have given up on Ford. Total disappointment.

I finally got the notice in the mail that my truck got the recall so I called the dealer where I originally had the fix made and they required me to bring the truck in because they had to replace everything again if I wanted a refund. After 6 weeks I did get almost all the original invoice back but they couldn't refund me the brake flush they did. Also in case anyone is interested there is a class action lawsuit against ford on this f150brakelitigation.com. If you are the original owner then you are automatically participating in the lawsuit. It will be interesting if anything comes out of this.
