That's what they told me as well, temporarily sealed it and ordered a replacement and if it's stained are going to try and clean it otherwise replace the headliner.

Third brake light has always and will always leak water into your truck. Ford has designed this so dealerships will make money diagnosing and repairing the problem until 2031. The Washington Post believes G. M. will buy Ford by 2033 and eventually fix the third brake light leaking nightmare. Until then..... Silicone.

Maybe my 2016 will have a "normal" 3rd light.

My 2015 has been at the dealer for 2 weeks now due to a water leak in the back. They believe it's coming from the rear window around the slider. They are replacing the window along with the carpeting. Hopefully this will do it.

So the 3rd brake light leaks on some of the '15's? This has to be what's happening with me.
Last weekend, while cleaning my truck. I folded up the rear seats and pulled out the floor mat and saw this mold. The floor felt a bit damp, but not terribly. I at first figured the kids spilled something. I vacc'd it and it with carpet cleaner. I was stumped, my other thought was that I left the slider open during a rain storm but I honestly don't open it often. So I must be leaking at the light. If that's the case, I'd like to get this addressed asap.

One more sliding window leak! 2016 Lariat. Sealed the moonroof so it never leaks and thought I was good but NOPE. Noticed a wet carpet under the driver side rear seat. Checked the third tail light but it looked good. Sealed it up anyway. Got more rain today and still have the seat down with the interior backer pulled back and darn if is wasn't still leaking. Traced the drops back to just under the sliding window. At least I now know where it's coming from. Looks like the sliding window seal is folded a bit in one corner so I'm going to seal that b*tch up too. Hopefully that will be the end of it. I've been using strips of that 3M clear nose guard material.

I have a 2015 F150 Platinum, carpet was wet on passenger rear side carpet after four trips to dealer ended up being the frame that holds the back glass, frame had a stress fracture which allowed water to come in and down the back of cab, behind sub woofer, then it was channeled over to the other side of truck floor. Now have a new problem, both rear tail lights have broke free from the sheet metal and are protruding out on the side of truck. It appears the plastic tabs that hold the light into the sheet metal just fractured, screws are still in place inside bed when you open tailgate. Appears the sheet metal has moved some how and fractured the plastic tabs. Strange thing it's on both sides in back. Only have 18000 miles and under 36 months but Ford won't cover. Submitted an appeal to Ford but not holding breath that they will fix. To me it's poor design, plastic tabs aren't strong enough. I've owned 25 Fords, this 2015 has been in the shop more than the other 24 Fords put together. Would get a new one but see problems with newer ones also.

I don't know how they could refuse to fix it if it's still on warranty. Assuming there is no damage to the box in that area. Tail lights just aren't supposed to pop out on their own. Over tightened maybe?
