Default Rear seats

2017 F150 Lariat Ecoboost 3.5 , Super crew

The rear seat bottoms were latched , I lift them up the other day , I cannot get them to latch down , they will latch up but not down, what am I missing?

Nothing. They don't latch in the down position.

God forbid what happens if your in an accident and someone is back there? They won't fold up?

One thing to keep in mind is, if you are involved in a roll-over with no rear seat passengers, anything stored under the seats could be strewn about the cabin. For this reason, it would be nice to have the seats latch down as well as latch up.

In the very unlikely event that you experience a rollover, those little items bouncing around the cabin will be the very least of your troubles. If you want extra seat latches for that, you should be walking around 24/7 with a portable lightning rod.
