I've often wondered why the manufacturers don't offer a delete-for-credit option for rear seats in a pickup. It would open up a whole new aftermarket industry for ready made customized cabinetry, shelving, drawers, secure storage, and yes, a place for dogs. I've met SCAB and SCREW owners who've said the could have got by with a regular cab except for their dog.

The SCAB rear seat is in two parts, driver side/center and passenger side. Each side is a hinged unit held in place by four bolts on the bottom and the seat back latch. The bottom cannot be removed independently of the back.
Being generally antisocial and having no interest in hauling more than three people, I have permanently removed my driver's side/center rear seat. The issue you will have removing the driver's side seat is that it will leave a very ugly center shoulder belt mount exposed and if you have a subwoofer it will be exposed. I chose to cut off the mount and upholster the rear cab wall. The grey material on the bottom is and acoustic material so as not to hinder subwoofer performance. You can't see it, but the wall material behind the light grey is heavily perforated and then covered with a fiberglass mesh (window screen) to support the acoustic material.
I can now fit very large items in the cab of the truck. Much more space back there and with the 170 degree door, much more accessible than even the crew cab.

Hi, do you have plans for this? Curious as I want to build the same thing for my dog to enjoy. Having the seat up is great to allow for storage under the platform. Happy to pay for a good plan like this.

Quick question...on this old thread. I just picked up a 2017 SCab and want to remove the larger seat.... mine has red loctite on the rear studs and nuts... does that mean I need to heat them to remove the nuts?... have removed the front two bolts not tried yet but wanted to check before I try the back ones. Also it looks like the small seat and large seat share a rear metal mount... do I need to pull the large seat off this mount?

Cannot Access the latch holding rear seat backs on
2019 F150 SuperCab - For the life of me I cannot get my hand or a tool to release the latch holding the seat back on. mikeinatlanta looks like his set up is the same as mine! For the love of god, how did you get that latch to release?!? The seat backs are fixed, and don't move in relation to the bottom part being up and down. Some do, and it looks like they have more clearance when the seat is in the up position. Mine does not do this, I have the smallest hands of anyone I've evet met, and I cannot get a hand or a tool in there to release the latch! Same as other users, trying to remove the double seat, so there's more room for my horse-dog.

Grab a long box wrench to hook onto that latch release. See this video. Start at 2 minutes or so in the video.

For anyone with a 2019 or 2020 Supercab F150 save yourself hours of hassle. and watch this video 2 min mark. Unlike other models the stupid latch pin is in the centre of the mechanism, not the side!! omg. WHY!? And it's super inaccessible. a box wrench wouldn't fit, I ended up jerry rigging a thinner tool.

Thank-you. I found this video earlier today and spent hours trying to hook the release pin on the side, spent another hour scouring the internet, the pin on my model of truck is in the centre not ,the side like all other models. Supercabs you can't visually see anything, I couldn't even fit a wrench behind there. Dumb design!
