Default Rear Diff question, not the typical question


What is the purpose of this hole on the diff? I see a few on each side and the holes are filled with weld.

Look a like plug weld to hold axle tube to centre section

ya really not col, it looked worse but I cleaned it off. Ford saw it at it's worse is denying warranty right now
