Default Rear diff dumb question at this point

May be a dumb question on my part after so many F150s but, if you have the ELD what is the diff when not locked? Open or LSD, I assume regular but that's an assumption on my part. They dont say on the window stickers just ELD and ratio.

DELETE I FOUND ANSWER IN ANOTHER THREAD.... THX

Would have to be Open they wouldn't need the ELD if it was a LSD!!

my 05 rubicon is an lsd when unlocked, an air locker when locked.
its a nice option, but not many lockers offer that anymore.

Yep; two different things. An LSD is good for any situation, meaning it slips for turns, etc., for a limited amount. With a locker, there's no slip, so it's for off-road and/or straight line only, and it typically disengages around 20 mph. I much rather have an LSD than a locker, but if you can have both, all the better . Having said that, I don't personally like the clutch type, but they're by far the most common. I much prefer a torsen type, which doesn't wear like a clutch one, but it's heavier, and more expensive.
