Could the F250/6.2L do it? Just for comparison sake.

I had same concerns. Trading in a HD2500 Duramax for the F150. Im pulling a 6900 lb boat and 1800 pd trailer so loaded w gas i fig around 9500. Im guessing tongue weight 600-700. F150 shouldn't have an issue. I too use electric trailer brakes for most of the stopping. Im going to level the truck and add 1" lift to rear just to offset the sag when loaded. I figure worst case i could add bags. I would be surprised though I towed this same boat w my old 05 F 150 before i got the Chevy and it wasn't a problem stock rear end

That's exactly what I tow the boat pictured in the first page with now. 2011 F250 6.2. 4.30 rear end. It walks around with the boat, and feels solid as a rock towing it. I only tow a few short trips a year, so the new F150 will be fine for that. But anymore than that, I'd want a 3/4 ton for sure!
