Default Re gearing

So, I’ve been considering redoing my gear ratio. My truck currently has 3.31 gears and I was thinking of changing them to a 3.73 gear. I bought the truck with the lift, rims, and tires already.

I just wanted to get some opinions on this and if it would be worth the money? I was quoted just shy of 3k for parts and labor. Also does anyone know if these are quality parts they would be using?

I haven’t hand calculated my mileage but I my gas meter states I average 11.5 mpg. Not sure if these will help and also just help with everything overall with the truck as far as adding performance mods and towing?

I am on mobile so I can't see your signature to see what size tires you have or what year your truck is. 3.73s from 3.31s will certainly help move things out better and should help some with gas mileage. Guessing that you maybe have 35s.

Yukon gears are quality parts.

honest question, how do you average the same? Is that because of the gears/tires or do you just drive really fast on the highway?

RPM is around 1750 in 10th gear on the highway going 75mph. Im lucky to get 12.5 with lift and 35's.
Before the lift and tires i was getting 18-19 at 75mph.

i actually get slightly better mileage in town than i do on the highway.

I definitely wouldn’t be doing this for gas mileage purposes. My concern is when I tow a boat/trailer or start adding tunes and other mods.

I dont want to waste the 3k if it’s not gonna be a big difference but I assume they never took the gears into mind when they added the lift wheels and tires.
