Default RC 2" Level Kit

Have waited and read a ton on different members level kits and any feedback for several months. Well finally pulled trigger to get Rough Country 2" Level kit installed. Wow looks great, should have done a long time ago.

But here's my dilemma, "pucks" were installed, everything put back together, alignment done, everything went off without a hitch...... drove it home, and reached 35mph+ and it sounds like a small roaring on driver side. Almost like something was dragging.

Took truck back next day and had technician look at it, he suspected maybe the brake shields were rubbing. Not it. Then thought tire pressure was too low. Not it. Wanted to rotate and balance all tires, but then he decided it wasn't an issue before level kit.

He left it with, maybe the 2015 F150 4x4 XLT just does that with the kit.

Has anybody else experienced this after a level installed?? @55mph on highway, sounds like i have knobby's on the truck, but the passenger stocks are still on for now.

Thanks guys

I would imagine they damaged the IWE or the vacuum line to it.

Any way to know how they could damage the IWE. I dare say they'll deny it.

Yup. Either the vacuum line or the actuators.

I would make sure the vacuum line is still plugged into the iwe. There are numerous ways they could have damaged it. It didn't do it prior so I would imagine they damaged it in the process or popped the vacuum line off while removing the strut. You could also go drive down a straight road and engage the 4x4 shortly to see if it goes away. If it does it's absolutely the iwe.

That is exactly what it was. I did the same thing to mine when I leveled it...

There are a couple ways to check. You can jack up the front of your truck, turn the engine on, (leave it in park) then try and rotate the front tires by hand...if you axle moves with them then your IWE seal is broken, or the vacuum hose etc.

Here is another video that talks more about it.

meant to add, basically this happens because they took the axle out of the spindle, then when putting it back in they did not seat the axle correctly. essentially once the wheel started rotating it broke the plastic inside the locking hub actuator...

The noise you hear is the axle turning, even though the transfer case, or whatever it is called is not in 4x4....when in 4x2, the axles do not rotate at all, just the wheels themselves.

Awesome video Annapolis, going to check the truck this weekend when i can get it up on a jack. I did check to make sure the vacuum lines were snug on the IWE nipples, they were, so now i'll check the truck once it's jacked up and running to see if axles move in 4x2.

Thanks for the video, very informative.
