Default Rattle Squeak

After 6,200 miles my 2018 has developed the dreaded pano roof rattle squeak. I take it in tomorrow for that and a few other things, rear window defroster not working, slight vibration on hard acceleration that disappears at 35-40 mph and a occasional clunk from the transmission when slowing to a stop that I swear sounds like I'm hitting something. To be honest, after reading many posts about the problem, I have little hope for the rattle squeak but hopefully they can fix the rest. Hopping for the best!

Likely as not...you will end up fixing it yourself. Get some trim removal tools and have at it. Good luck.

I’m about to doze off and can help more tomorrow if needed. But I did the “tape” fix and my sunroof has been rattle free for 8000 miles. You basically buy some 3M thin fancy tape and put a strip along the edge when it’s full open and then close it. It’s some magic I swear but it worked for me.

Any photos of where you placed the tape would be greatly appreciated! A photo of the tape would be great too. Is 3M thin fancy it's actual name?

Tape like this,
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DTBSAHC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DTBSAHC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Open your sunroof all the way, you know how the first panel slides so it is sitting over the second panel? You're going to put a piece of tape from driver side to passenger side on the rear panel. This panel doesn't move, but is exposed when the roof is fully open. So when you close the panel that movable piece is going to slide forward and then tuck down against the fixed panel where you put the tape. I'll get a pic later if I can. Actually found something I posted, see post 11 here: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/panor...441442/index2/

Thanks a lot for the info! I've already dropped her off at the dealer so we will see how it goes. I didn't really want the pano roof but every truck the dealer could find on other dealer lots that had what I wanted had it. Must say I've enjoyed it a lot more then I thought I would as it makes the cabin feel bigger. The rattle squeak has just developed in the last 500 or so miles so hopefully I can get it nipped in the bud because it is very loud and annoying!

I had a hard time finding the exact truck I wanted, because I had to have it. To be honest I've opened it maybe 5 times because it just gets loud at speed, but I do love retracting the shade and seeing outside. I tinted it to I believe 70% and it seemed to help a lot, but still gets hot. The dealer will most likely do the TSB we have all seen which involves Krytox greasing the seals, this surprisingly helps a lot too. So what I did was the tape method which seems pretty harmless, and also forked out 30.00 for a ridiculous size tube of the grease. It's pretty easy to clean and apply and gives peace of mind.

On my truck, the sliding panel is UNDER the fixed one when opened, not over it. Just wanted to point out that all other 2015+ trucks with a pano roof should be the same.

Yep I was trying to visualize it and got it backwards, either way you should be applying the tape to the panel that doesn't move. Hopefully it makes sense when you go look at it in person.
