Default sliding window 'gap'?

Hi all,

The guy at the car wash was rinsing my truck with the pressure washer and inadvertently sprayed my daughter who was sitting behind me in the back seat. THis was through a gap in the back sliding window. It doesnt leak in the rain or anything and I realize he was spraying at an obscure angle to accomplish this - but does this gap look normal? The shadow makes it look bigger than it is - hopefully you guys can make our what im talking about!

So your daughter was sprayed inside??? Damn. Didn't think it'd be that bad. I've seen many trucks with a gap, mainly at the bottom, where it's reportedly the worst, since rain water gets in there very easy. I thought there was a channel under the sliding window, similar to the moonroof one, to dump water under the truck or something. But guess not. Seems like a crappy design. My truck has no visible gaps, but I can tell the seal is not firmly against the window either, so I bet if I spray water at an angle, it'd get in there too. In fact, I'm surprised rain water is not getting in there, since the moonroof seeps water, and the seal makes a lot more pressure than the sliding window. But I haven't been able to check, since I have a subwoofer, and would have to remove a lot of crap to check if carpet is wet. Might do that some day, but the good news is I live in the desert, so it hardly rains. Plus my truck sleeps inside the garage. But I bet the sun beats up that crappy seal causing gaps within a year of exposure. Is your truck garaged or not? At any rate, I'd get it replaced under warranty man. Good luck, and keep us posted.

It might be there but i can't see any kind of gap in that picture.

If the pressure washer was a high enough pressure and at the right angle it could deform the weather seals causing the leak.

Mine is that way too. The seal bulges up/open some on both corners on the driver side. Pass side sits perfectly flat/maintains full contact though. I don’t anything CAN be done about it short of changing the entire back glass. I put in a good effort a couple times to see if that seal could be sourced somewhere but came up empty.
