Good morning guys,

Hopefully one of you can chime in with some advice on what my issue could be on getting the paddles to work. My truck is a '16 XLT with the 302A package 3.5L NA with the column shifter (I do not have the "M" option) I spent the better part of the weekend trouble shooting and could not find a reason as to why is not working (Sorry for tearing apart your craftsmanship Goose) unless my eyes are cheating me I believe I have wired everything correctly, so this leads me to 2 conclusions: My understanding of "correctly" wired is wrong, or for guys like myself that do not have the manual mode either its a nogo or we need a bit more modification.

I took some pictures of the wiring I did hoping one of you guys can point out a possible mistake on my part

Thanks in advance for the help

PS: I ended up using those connectors to make trouble shooting a bit easier

Ok, so thanks for posting. Lets see if we can get you up and shifting! What I think we need to do 1st is to perform a continuity test (I do this before each harness is sent out, but now we need to ensure there is continuity between the harness and truck's wiring after install) Do you have a DMM with continuity setting? Looking at your pics it appears wiring is correct...but did you ensure that when pinning/tapping that you physically verified with the numbers on the truck's pigtails?

FYI, the WT1001 pin wires are becoming more "scarce", and with me ordering so many of them at once, lol, the prices are starting to creep up! Crazy...letting all know that I will have enough to complete 3 more harnesses and it may be a while before I will have more. Lmk if you would like one.... If you have already contacted me, you can disregard this, you are already taken care of and accounted for.

And pls if anyone is having an issue, pls do as Alexatosjr has and post here. Its the quickest and best way to get the issue looked at and hopefully resolved.

Yea I have a DMM that I can check the continuity with. Regarding the pins although It was hard to see I do believe I have them correct 9,10,11 if I remember correctly, for the tap I went with the wire colors and had a little bit of a doubt when it came to the purple wire, the purple is the small line on a green wire, but the location it was in made sense.

I will do the continuity test and hopefully get some answers

Ok, but the test I need you to do is to rule out the harness 1st. To do so you wil need to unplg both truck pigtails, the one @ C226 on top of the clockspring, and the other @ C219 where you tapped into. You will then perform the continuity test from connector to connector...making note that when you check pin#9 @C226 that it matches with pin #4 on C219. Does that make sense? Do this for all 3 connections and lmk...

If he doesn't have a Manual mode on his shifter he's not going to be able to shift manually, right? At most, I would think he could lock out gears like we can do when in drive with the +- buttons.

Do you have a way to do that on your truck and have you verified it works before modding anything?

Are you asking if I can manually shift from D to 3rd while driving?
