Default Ranger and F-150 with similar payload capacity

I was looking at my son's 2020 Ranger as he's looking to get a small camper and I was like, "Don't do it...payload isn't there...", but to my amazement it was within 50 pounds of my Lariat! My payload is 1,697 and his is 1,650.
I guess being 1,300 pounds lighter than a F-150 helps with that, huh?

Too small for almost any camper regardless IMO.

He can probably tow a Casita, Scamp, and maybe an R-Pod.

Probably 500a, no moonroof, no FX4, no large fuel tank.

Most Lariats will have more heavy options dragging the payload down than this truck.
