Default Rain sensor wipers

I'm having an issue with my rain sensor wipers where they suck. I'll increase the sensitivity **** up up up and it's hit and miss whether they'll detect rain. It's quite frustrating I'm kind of wishing they had an option for the old style delay. Seems to be worse at night. Any known issues with them?

Mine do the same thing. Sometimes they run like H--- other times I can not get them to swipe. I have a 2016 and a 2019 and yes they both do the same. I don't know of a way to make them go back to the old way.

Speaking for the 2018 Lariat... the rain sensing wipers are terribly inconsistent, our BMW and Acura rain sensing are much better at the task. Your 2018 (and likely others) can be set to traditional delay inside the vehicle settings. Fumble through the settings with the left hand steering wheel control, or read the owners manual.

My 2001 SLS had them they were great. Every car since that they have sucked. Including an AMG Mercedes. Not sure why they are so inconsistent and erratic.

They work fine on my 2018 Lariat...I think you can turn them off in settings if you just want regular wipers.

So disable them.
I didn't find them super useful, but haven't had much rain since I got the truck. I experimented with them enabled and disabled and ended up keeping them disabled.
The thing that worked the best was how the interval increases with vehicle speed, but sensing wasn't very good. Every other sensor on the trucks seems to work great, just not the rain sensing one.

You can turn auto wipers on or off in the advanced controls section of the instrument panel menu. We've had a lot of rainy weather recently that I've been commuting in, and I've found when I first turn the wipers on, they tend to wipe too often for a short time and sometimes even put the wipers into high-speed mode for a few seconds, then settle down and do a pretty good job of adjusting to speed and rainfall. I've had auto wipers on 3 vehicles in the past couple decades and none were perfect, but all were acceptable and I like that I don't have to constantly fiddle with wiper controls to adjust as my speed or the weather changes.

My Jaguar (2014 XJ) worked very well so I'm surprised this one sucks so hard. Glad to hear I can disable it and go back to just delayed wipes. I'll look in Sync and find it. Thanks!

I have the opposite problem in my 2017, they are way too sensitive and wipe at full speed in the lightest drizzle. Its extremely annoying and I have switched back to normal wiper mode because of it. Hopefully someone can figure out how to adjust the sensitivity of the sensor.

Not in Sync, in the main dash menus.

Owners manual shows where it is. Advanced settings I think. Sorry, can't see my truck display from my computer screen.
