Default Same issues 2018 F-150 Raptor

Same issue with the black screen and what not but I took it to a dealership prior to this to get an update because my screen was “lagging” and this is how they returned it to me! They said I need a part to fix it that they don’t have. What should I do?!

"Lagging" is the hallmark symptom of a dying APIM. With the chip shortages, it's possible they simply don't have an APIM available at the moment. I know there was discussion about Ford shipping vehicles for large fleet customers and leaving certain systems disabled, to be resolved later when the chip shortage resolves itself - infotainment systems were called out as one of these.

Default 2018 stx dead radio

Anyone ever find a solution to this besides replacing radio? Mine has been dead for about a week, the reset does nothing and fuses seem to check out. I had a pos aftermarket stereo/gps I installed in my last truck for almost 10 years and it never failed to power up.

More than likely it is a cold solder joint, which if the boards are uncoated is a simple fix with a heat gun to reflow the solder, but I think the boards in these are encased in Epoxy, or heavily coated for moisture and vibration resistance. Thats the only true fix other than replacement.

My 2018 Truck is on the same way. Black display, totally dead. Tried all the resets possible with NO success. Any other recommendations?

APIM replacement is the only answer to the cold weather dead radio unfortunately. Ebay 300 bucks or less is the answer. and 20 minutes work with a socket.
