Default Radio Issues - Resolved?

Hey all!

2017 XLT SCREW - 300 A Package

I have read numerous posts on here about the radios and the issues you all have had, I too have had the issues with my 4" screen, the usual, not turning on, turns on no sound, Yadda, Yadda, Yadda.

So here is the point/questions of the post:

1) Did anyone ever figure out what the root cause of the radio issues and how to resolve them? I couldn't find a thread that definitively answered this.

2) I am wanting to upgrade to an 8" screen, do I use the 15-17 sync 2, or should I move up to the sync 3? I know what is involved with both, but I am looking to stay away from the problems unless question 1 has been answered.

MY2016 and up are SYNC3 with Version 3.0. Later years are SYNC3 with Version 3.4.
