Default Quick and cheap method to de-chrome Ford emblems.

I will eventually get a painted set or billet ones, but I’m not real eager to rip the front of the truck apart again. This plastidip turned out pretty good. My first time using it so will have to see how it holds up.

Looks great. Most paint the blue part but for your truck paint the chrome looks perfect.

Thanks!

I know it’s not common but actually wanted to leave the blue. I like the contrast and it stays true to the “blue oval”. If I end up with a painted set I’ll do the same combo, leave the blue but do the chrome in magnetic gray to match the body. I went with anthracite metallic Plastip for this.

You've got a steadier hand than me. Turned out nice, and I like the originality.

I see you have an STX, or at least the grille. See my thread on removing the front emblem without removing the grille. Hope it helps, if you need to do it. As mentioned earlier, you have steadier hands than I. Nice work.

Damn you for showing me this! haha

In all honestly, thanks for sharing, this is awesome. I do plan to upgrade to a billet emblem at some point so this is great to know.

That looks great, nice job! When you're ready to replace them you might as well do them yourself. It's VERY easy and getting them out is the hardest of part which is still easy. Some great youtube videos out there to help. Taking the emblems apart to paint is easy using a small flat tip and a drill. Check out the youtube videos
