Default Quick 4 wheel Auto question....

I currently have a 2012 FX4 4x4 (no auto). When engaged in 4H and I say turn into a parking space my truck will "jump" or be tough to turn. With 4A will I have that problem?

I am counting on the fact that we will not have that issue with 4A as opposed to what we have now. I am sure someone who has gotten there already can tell us for sure. If not I am hoping to know by tomorrow and I will let you know.
With the snow that we are getting in WNY, I have not been out of 4wd in days.

Quick answer: no

The 4A system doesn't kick in unless it detects wheel spin, so it doesn't affect the steering the same way as 4H.

Got a 2015 with the 4A, I would say it will slighty hop depending on how much gas you give the truck. I found on dry pavement by looking at the power distribution screen that alot of the time power goes to the front even when going along at 60kph and gunning it.

Thanks. I also am typically in 4H for weeks at a time with all the snow/slush we get and sick of having to flip to 2W to make a sharp turn/park.

Do all 15s have auto 4x4? Or an option?

Bless your heart. You never would have made it 'back in the day' when we had to get out and manually lock the hubs ... LOL.

XL and XLT indicate "4x4 ESOF" (electronic shift on the fly), while the Lariat and up indicate "Two-Speed Automatic 4WD (4x4 only)"

4H only works "right" in snow ice mud conditions there needs to be something the tires can slip against.

Driving in 4H on dry pavement can damage the hubs long term, 4A is different and doesn't put the strain on the hubs because power to the front is controlled.
