Default Question on Sync 3, 3.4 and map updates

I am fairly new to the electronics in my 2018 F 150, the truck I had prior was a 2006. I've read a little about updating and noticed I have Sync 3.0 and there are no new map updates. Considering the software I have now is 2019, I believe, shouldn't I be able to update? I went to the site where it said I could pay for an update, but it also said there were none available for Sync 3.
Can anyone give me a quick down and dirty explanation how everything works and where to get updates? I'd appreciate any direction.

I'll be dead before I can read through the entire almost 500 pages of the thread. However I did read through 5-10 pages at the beginning and a few at the end before I created this thread, hence the 3.4. Either I'm not understanding what I've read correctly or I'm as updated as I'm going to get without jailbreaking the system. That's what I'm trying to find out.

So, I DID read through the entire thread . . . and that's why you should, because it will provide the answers to your questions . . .

First off, thank you for the advice.
I have always found it interesting that a percentage of members on forums like this will always post old threads and tell you to read through it, instead of answering easy questions.
Yes, I'm sure somewhere buried in those 500 pages are the answers to my questions, even though 99.5% of that thread won't really help me a bit. However, there is also always that one person who will just answer the question and I appreciate that.
To the person that did that, although not publicly through this thread, thanks. It ended up being a simple misunderstanding between what was on the app on my phone and what was on the website and me not knowing there was a difference.
Simple response and I now have all my questions answered simply by realizing there was information on 2 sites, and I was on the wrong one. Read through the right one and I'm good.
