Just purchased a 2015 F150 XLT. Haven't owned a Ford since 2007 so this Sync stuff is new to me. I'm used to the Uconnect system in the Rams.

Anyway, I've done some reading on here and it appears Android/Apple capability will be added to the Sync 3 systems.

Here's a dumb question. How do I know if I have the Sync 3 system? I have the 8" touch screen with navigation, does that automatically mean I have Sync 3 or no?

Are there any reports of Apple/Android auto being added to the 2015 MY?

 

Sync 3 only optional with 2016 and up.

 

That's too bad, but thanks for the reply. Is it the same radio in both model years? If so, the possibility exists to upgrade, even if Ford isn't yet offering that as an option, but perhaps it's something that could be purchased.

If the radio is completely different, then it's obviously not even an option

 

If you have a 2015 then you have sync 2 or commonly known as My Ford Touch. I personally prefer MFT over sync 3. We have both. I have MFT and she has sync 3. I despise sync 3

haha. I love MFT but everything that is on the touchscreen, I have a button for also. Which makes it nice when you don't want to mess with the touch screen

Except for the heated steering wheel, which is only on the touch screen.

At least it's an improvement over SYNC1, which had no hard buttons for exiting dual climate control mode or vent selection.
