Lol. Ironic. My dad just bought a '49 Cadillac. It has push button start. I don't think there is anything modern about push buttons.

Will the Lariat w/ push button start still have keyless entry buttons on door? I always lock keys in truck and use door keypad to enter.

iirc, the keypad is vertical on the b-pillar, like other new Ford models. No more big rubber buttons, more of a touch pad that lights up when you touch the area so it otherwise unseen

Same thing with remote start, just triggering the start module/relay.

Your experience may vary depending on year model, I have a 13.

My 09 4.6L XL had this feature. I think it was with the body style change that they did this. I'm not positive though. It's frustrating to get into somebody elses car and bump the ignition looking like an idiot. Lol.

I just took some pics of the Lariat on display at Hot August Nights in Reno. You can see the keypad pretty good.

Sorry but that is an entirely different push to start. Does you dad truck recognize the key in his pocket when he walks up to the truck and grabs the door handle to lock and unlock? No. Does his truck recognize if he has the key in his pocket when he pushes the start button? No. That is not even in the same league as this. I own a push to start vehicle right now and I never want to go back to finding keys to unlock/lock my doors, open trunk or starting my vehicle. Before you ask, No you can't lock the keys in the vehicle. It recognizes that the key is in the vehicle and the button on the handle won't lock the door. Also, if the key fob batteries are low/dead, every vehicle have a place to insert the transmitter so that you can still start the car.

I think you can lock the fob inside by pushing the lower two buttons. On my '11 you can lock doors while vehicle is running this way. Using manual door button does like you say, keeps unlocking.

The only possible issue with this is Push Button Start vehicles like that often have a feature that prevents you from locking the doors if it detects the FOB is inside the vehicle but the vehicle isn't running. That way you can't leave the vehicle and the fob inside and lock the doors and be SOL.

My aunt/uncles Nissan does this, my Wife's Fiesta with PBS still let you lock it even if the FOB was inside, and another PBS Ford we had later did not let you lock it (the doors unlocked immediately after you locked them) if it detected the FOB was inside and the vehicle wasn't running.

So will depend what path Ford takes I guess. I like the idea of it locking even if the FOB is inside because it seems like a better situation from a security perspective. Someone is chasing you or a spouse or something, you get in the car and lock the door just in time, and it unlocks for the person coming after you/them because the car isn't running. Almost like a really bad joke.
