Default Push-button start works without keyfob...

This afternoon I noticed when I opened the door to get out of the truck, the door chime goes constantly, like on a vehicle with the key left in the ignition. My truck has the push-button start, so it normally does not do this, even with the keyfob in the vehicle.

I then noticed I could start the truck without the keyfob anywhere near it. Any ideas??? I only have 2 keys and it will still start even with both keys over 100 ft away.

Sounds like your truck has been hacked...

Maybe disconnect negative on battery for a bit and let things reset? Then check it out?

Might be a good idea to sleep in the truck tonight. Just in case!

Wow you have gremlins in your truck.

I would get it to the dealer quick. If you have an wifi or BT OBD2 plug you can get FORScan for free and see if it pulls any codes.

I tried unplugging the battery for 30 mins and it fixed the problem until i started it up. Once i cut it off the problem came back. Looks like another trip to the dealer coming up...

Have you tried to start the truck with a different FOB? Make sure the other one is far away from the truck. You can put it in the microwave (don't turn it on) LOL because the microwave will seal and stop the RF getting to the truck for sure. I use this trick when I test my RF stuff on my RC planes and FPV gear. Just to test return to home loss of control link.

Also you can try pulling all the batteries from all your fobs. Go to the truck and sit one of the FOB's in that backup area under the rubber mat and then try starting and stopping the truck.

Take it to the dealer,,,, it will probably work fine for them...

Think I'm for sure going to get the extended warranty! Too many strange problems popping up with these trucks..

All this electronic stuff,,, and the lowest bidder got the job.. Sort of like our falling apart roads and bridges.
