Anyone else push button kinda loose?
I can move mine around. The metal ring is not like really snug,
I can slide it sideways and up and down, as though the ring or nut is not tight enough. Just wondering. I will have a look at others in the show room, and maybe have them see what they can do about it.

I was going to post the same question. Had the truck since March and I just noticed it the other day.

I often keep a second FOB in the center console. I can lock the truck with a touch of the door as long as I have the other FOB in my pocket. Can also lock using key pad.

Keeps the horn from honking

Two things.
1. Its a safety reason to have the truck honk at you to remind you the engine is running. To many "retards" that leave their engine running and then sue Ford for not making it let them know that they left the engine running and some thing bad happens. (Remember some ones coffee was to hot and won a ton of money)

2 How lazy have we become? Push a button to turn off the engine. Push a button to turn on a engine.

I'm so tired of hearing people complain about features that have to be implemented because companies are so worried about stupid lawsuits.

Sorry about using the word "retard" but it was used by others and I wanted to get my point across. Try building some thing for millions of different people and make them all happy.

I'm married to an attorney so I get to hear about stupid things that people want to sue for. It is now a game to see if they can get a big paycheck for some thing they did to them self but in their mind should have been told not to do it by the manufacture. Trust me it is only going to get worse as far as things we have to pay for to keep us safe.

Last thing. My wife is a lawyer who goes after bad attorneys. Lets say she is busy.

I get out of the truck, fob in my right hand and touch it to the rear glass (not the back door, the actual back glass) while closing the door with my left. Never honks. Sensors still think the fob is inside. 100% replicable. I've got a super crew and I'm 5'8", so not really stretching.

Someone else posted about holding it to the top of the drivers door, but that's only worked about 75% in my experience.

I gotta ask.....why do owners want to keep their truck "running". Just shut it off, keep the fob in your pants... A running vehicle is an invitation for a stolen vehicle imo.

I can't speak for everyone, but when I'm traveling with just me and the dog and it's 105 degrees in the shade (and no parking is available in the shade anyway) I leave the truck running, locked with the AC on if I need to go into a gas station or rest stop to use the restroom, for example. When I'm towing the Airstream and therefore can't use a drive-through, add grabbing fast food for lunch to the list of reasons.

It's easy for me since I still have to use an old-fashioned key to start my '07 Lariat, but I'll want similar functionality when I buy a newer truck and I like several of the other options that currently require trim levels that include the push-button start. SecuriCode for the win!

My reason is mainly for passengers that choose not to enter every store I visit...also for keeping groceries in a cooler environment.

I always shut it down, and then remote start, after I exit the truck. That eliminates the chance of a stolen vehicle and the double honk.

I like the "hold the remote to the rear door glass" solution i8iridium
